There are 12 different programs that can be used to make a variety of breads, doughs, cakes and jams. Among the programs are it’s BASIC setting that can be used for a large number of breads, but it also has programs for French Bread, Whole Wheat, Sweet Breads, Ultra Fast, Gluten Free breads, Jams and Cakes.
The delay timer feature allows you to set the bread machine up the night before and time it so that it will finish just before you wake up to that wonderful fresh baked bread. It also has a feature to keep the bread warm for 60 minutes so that your bread is always warm when you want it.
You can make 2 different sized loaves in this machine so that if you don’t want to make the larger 900g loaves you can make a 750g loaf instead. While you are setting the loaf size you can also set the crust setting for your bread which can be either a light, medium or dark crust dependent on your preference.
Viewing Window and controls
There is a viewing window so that you can see your bread as it is being prepared and baked. The controls are large easy to use buttons and there is a clear LCD screen to show you what choices you have made and the baking time.
There is a automatic ingredients dispenser on this breadmaker which makes it a lot easier to add the extra ingredients that you might have like nuts or raisins which tend to be required to be added later on in the preparation time schedule. So this means that you can just load up the ingredients and leave it to do all the work for you rather than waiting around for the correct time to manually add them. There has been a few people saying that the dispenser size isn’t quite big enough to hold the ingredients that they want to add but it is adequate for most.
You are given a measuring cup and spoon so that you can make your bread as soon as you get the breadmaker as there are recipes in the manual. Also for those occasional times that the kneading blade gets stuck inside the bread, they have also provided a blade retrieval hook to help you.
The 600Watt Andrew James Premium Breadmaker has the following dimensions: 35cm x 26cm x 31cm. The casing is Stainless steel and looks great in any kitchen, ( though you can get a Red Andrew James Premium Breadmaker here for a similar price). You also get a 2 Year Warranty included with this so you can be confident that it will last.
The Andrew James Premium Breadmaker is a nice machine at the budget end of the market with some nice features like the viewing window and automatic Ingredient dispenser. However, with the fact that it only makes 2 loaf sizes while most other models offer 3 is a little disappointing.
Still worth considering though if you on a budget.
